Overflow Church will host its fourth annual Prayer Drive-Thru on Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, located at 14800 Highland Drive in McKenzie.
Community members are invited to drive through the prayer tent, where church members will be available to pray with anyone who would like prayer. Overflow youth will also be on hand holding signs and directing traffic into the event.
The Prayer Drive-Thru began four years ago after Overflow Church member David Rushing said God placed it on his heart to begin praying for people in the community.
Cindy Gaylord, who has helped with the event in previous years, said she is looking forward to taking part again this year.
“In a world that can often feel heavy, we want our community to know that there is hope, there is love, and there is always someone willing to pray with you,” Gaylord said. “As Christians, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, sharing His love, encouragement and compassion with those around us. Whether you need prayer for yourself, a loved one, a situation you’re facing, or simply need a word of encouragement, we invite you to drive through and let us pray with you.”
Gaylord said each vehicle that comes through the Prayer Drive-Thru will also receive a Blessing Bag as a small reminder that God sees them, loves them and cares about every detail of their lives.
