Huntingdon cancels annual September Heritage Festival

According to an e-mail from the Town of Huntingdon on Monday, the town’s annual Heritage Day Festival has been cancelled due to the current circumstances concerning the coronavirus pandemic. The Festival is always held the fourth Saturday in September. The Citizen of the Year and a Pioneer Family is always named during a 10 a.m. ceremony on the Court Square. The remainder of the day consists of food, craft and business vendors set up around the Court Square and entertainment from the stage.

This would have been the 28th consecutive year for the Festival.

The notice read: “Due to the current circumstances and in following the guidelines set forth, the Town of Huntingdon is canceling our annual Heritage Day Festival for the safety of our Town employees and our community.”
