COVID-19 cases spiking in county

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Carroll County have jumped by over 100 over the past month or so.

According to figures on the state’s website, there were 139 cases in the county as of 2 p.m. on Monday – up from just 36 cases on June 22.

Local deaths from the virus stood at two on Monday.

Statewide, there were over 96,000 cases and a total of 978 deaths attributed to coronavirus.

Over 57,000 Tennesseans have recovered from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

According to a demographic breakdown, the biggest age group for confirmed cases in the state has been 21-30 at 22,863, while those 81 and over have experience the largest number of deaths at 318.

Confirmed cases have been about the same among males and females, while deaths among males outnumber females 564 to 414.
